The driver of a Mister Softee ice cream truck was arrested yesterday on charges of selling cocaine and marijuana from his truck while it was parked outside a middle school in Queens, the police said (Source New York Times 04/08/2007). Brings a whole new meaning to the question, "do you want an 'ice' cream"?

Ice is the translucent crystal, smokeable form of methamphetamine. It is also commonly called glass or crystal and, like other stimulants, is highly addictive. The use of ice results in a longer, more intense high and an enhanced and more rapid onset of the negative effects of other forms of methamphetamine. A large proportion of all crime these days is drug related and, even in this sleepy neck of the woods we are not short of drug abuse and drug problems.

The savvy dealers from the North East have been canvasing and supplying outside schools for some time now. Obviously the sooner they get the little treasures hooked the better their customer base. I wonder how long before this sales pitch is adopted in the UK?
