Fair pay for police

“There is no greater responsibility than that which you as police officers accept. And there is no greater obligation for us in government than to support you in discharging that duty”. Gordon Brown, ACPO Conference 2007

The failure to reach agreement on police pay for the second year running is disappointingly at odds with the support offered to police by Gordon Brown at the ACPO conference in June. As with the successful Police Federation pay campaign last year, we do not seek to be over compensated but to have fair pay. Pay that reflects the often dangerous work we are called on to do and understands our unique employment status as Servents of the Crown who break the law if they take any form of industrial action.
