It's happened again... Shetland Ponies in Filey are the target of our sick, spineless underclass youth once again. On several occasions recently it appears some inane and inadequate halfwit has been using the ponies for an ash tray. The owner has found evidence to suggest that cigarettes have been stubbed out on the animal's head, nose and eyelids. How low and sick can the youth of today get? Jackie Cook had a pony injured in November 2006. The animal, one of several Shetland ponies that provide fun rides for children on Filey beach, was not injured in a riding accident, nor was it hit by a vehicle... The poor defenceless animal was stabbed by some idiot for fun!
At the time of the original incident RSPCA North regional press officer, Sophie Corless, said: "The RSPCA is shocked an appalled by this incident." If anyone witnesses another incident like this, they should call the RSPCA cruelty line immediately on 0870 55 55 999 or ring North Yorkshire Police on 0845 60 60 247
It's probably a pity we don't live in the dark ages or some fanatical religious community, then maybe the punishment for the perpetrators would fit the crime. An Eye for Eye or something similar... Let's try to catch these morons!
